2018 was a great year for cinema starring Black actors. People flocked to the theaters to see Black Panther in almost cos play fashion, dressing up in traditional African garb. The Black Panther was made after the movie had left theaters but some placed orders to wear while enjoying it on Blue Ray. Here was our social media post lol:

UPDATE: On August 28, 2020 ( just seven days after this original post) the world received the shocking news that actor Chadwick Boseman has lost his battle with cancer. From playing iconic legends like James Brown, Thurgood Marshall and Jackie Robinson to Marvel super hero Black panther, Mr. Boseman also spent time visiting children with terminal cancer while never mentioning his own illness. The King will be sorely missed. Rest in Power Chadwick Boseman.

Tips to clean and care for Sterling Silver Jewelry

Sterling Silver is a very beautiful metal but even with a rhodium plating it can tarnish when exposed to oxygen over a long period of time. The last thing you want is for your pendant, ring or bracelet to have a grey dull look. Here are a few ways to keep your Silver jewelry as shiny as the day you bought it.

Tip #1: Store in a velvet sack and ziplock bag

Usually when you purchase sterling jewelry it will be in a velvet sack or box. After a day of wearing your jewelry, place it back in the sack or box. Then place it in a zip-lock bag.This will keep air out that will oxidize you precious item.

Tip #2: Purchase a Sterling Silver jewelry cleaning cloth.

Cleaning cloths are a quick way to maintain the look of your jewelry. The cloth is usually double sided. One side to remove dirt and tarnish while the other side is used to buff and polish to maintain that gleaming shine. You can purchase it at super markets, Target or Walmart. Amazon. Tip 3: Home solution

Momma’s home remedies usually make you a little nauseous like drinking caps of castor oil daily but this jewelry remedy actually works. You only need four items. A sheet of aluminum foil, some baking soda and glass pan and hot water. Take a glass cooking pan and line it with aluminum foil. Sprinkle baking soda over the foil. Pour hot water into the pan, last place your jewelry in the pan. Make sure the silver is touching the foil. The foil will begin to grab the dirt and tarnish from the pendant. After a few minutes, take it out and dry off your sparkling like jewelry.

Tip 4: Visit your local jeweler.

All jewelers have a steam cleaning machine in their store. Most will do you honor of cleaning it for you for free if you’ve purchased anything from them in the past. Steam cleaning is by far the most effective way to keep your jewelry shining and new.
